Picking Professions

Postby bgvanbur » Wed Jan 27, 2010 5:49 am

Some people have been asking about the best way to put professions on their characters.

First pick you favorite professions (making food, weapons, armours, clothes, carpentry, jewelry, or potions). Then using the profession dependency chart you can determine the supporting professions needed for you favorite profession(s). Any profession that points to your favorite profession is needed to support your favorite profession.

The profession dependency chart is located at http://forum.gekkeijuonline.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&p=20469#p20469.

Once you have nine professions picked out, you need to figure out which character to put them on.

Your strongest character should have the collecting professions that involves collecting near creatures (herbalist, lumberjack, miner, and butcher). If you have less than 3 chosen for your strongest character, farming and fishing are also suitable substitutes. By putting all the collecting professions on your strongest character, you make it the easiest to collect (especially the higher tiers that will have strong creatures surrounding the items to collect).

Then the item creating professions should go on your weakest character (cook, sage, tailor, armoursmith, weaponsmith, tinkerer, carpenter). This character doesn't need to leave the city for crafting since they have access to the bank (to get collected materials) and access to the crafting hall (to make the crafts). If you were to put collecting professions on your weakest character it would make it harder to collect materials for higher level tiers.

Then all your other professions should go on your second strongest character.

Hope this helps.

It should probably be noted that the tier advancement quests for crafting professions will suitable for the tier's level. First quest being level 15 and second already 35. Most of the advancement quests above tier 1->2 will involve killing of or otherwise interacting with monsters around the quests' level.
